Aesthetics and Function – Custom Dental Restorations at Smilecraft
A great dental restoration does two things seamlessly: it functions like a natural tooth, and it looks like one. At Smilecraft, we believe these two objectives are inseparable — a restoration that functions well but looks artificial, or looks good but fails under biting forces, has fallen short of what modern dentistry can achieve.
Individualised Treatment Planning
No two mouths are alike, and no two restorations should be identical. At Smilecraft, every prosthetic case begins with a comprehensive assessment of the patient's specific situation: the position, condition, and loading of the teeth, the gum tissue characteristics, the opposing dentition, the patient's bite, and their aesthetic goals.
This information forms the basis of an individualised treatment plan, discussed and agreed with the patient before any irreversible procedure begins.
Material Choices
The materials used in dental restorations have advanced enormously. At Smilecraft, we work with:
Zirconia: Exceptionally strong, biocompatible, and increasingly natural in appearance. Ideal for posterior crowns and bridges subject to high biting forces.
Lithium disilicate (e-max): Outstanding translucency and aesthetics, with excellent strength. The material of choice for anterior crowns and veneers where a natural, lifelike appearance is paramount.
Porcelain-fused-to-zirconia: Combines the strength of a zirconia substructure with the aesthetics of a porcelain outer layer.
The Smilecraft Laboratory Workflow
Our prosthetic workflow involves close collaboration with certified dental laboratories. Digital scans, photographs, shade guides, and detailed technical specifications are communicated to the laboratory for each case. The result is a restoration that is crafted to match the individual patient's existing dentition in colour, shape, and texture.
At Smilecraft, the standard we hold ourselves to is simple: every restoration should be indistinguishable from the natural teeth around it — and built to last.
